Sorry I’ve been short on blogs this year, the first group of kids we had was a good group, we had 21 kids and it was a great weekend. I think deer were seen by almost everyone and we ended up having a nice buck taken. Friday night we got up and ate, Kristy brought a short devotion and we all tried to get some sleep before the Saturday morning hunt. Saturday came and Michael brought the messages. The kids had a great time outside playing a little football and burning some of their energy. We had a evening hunt with more deer seen, and we finished the night with dinner and a message. Sunday morning came early with a first kill and a very excited kid. We finished the weekend with a message from Jeremy about being ready, like Noah.
Overall it was a great weekend, from what I heard, you see I had to tap out early due to not feeling well, and there were others that pushed through just to be present. And thats where the point of this blog comes in. I got sick, and had to leave, but what a blessing it was to know that others had my back. I could rest easy knowing everything would be taken care of, because at Briar Ridge we are like family. Just like at camp, our lives should be the same way. I urge you to surround yourself with people that will pray for you if you are down and pick up the slack if there are things to do. That’s our job as Christians, to have eyes on those around us and be ready to encourage, help, and even do the labor of those around us if necessary.
I don’t have enough words to thank those who lent a hand that first weekend. You are all appreciated, and I’m so happy the kids never noticed anything awry. Just like the example of the body of Christ, we work as one for the goal of the ministry. I appreciate everyone that takes a part and helps with our ministry. Whether at the front or from the side lines, God is using you for his purpose, now let us walk in that.
If you would like to be a part of our ministry please feel free to contact us, or if you know someone that needs a weekend give us a call.
Titus 3:14. Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order to provide for urgent needs and not live unproductive lives.
