Last weekend was awesome! We had a great group come up from Montgomery Baptist Church.
We got a few good bucks down and one doe. The bucks were a 9 point, 8 point, and a 6 point Saturday evening. And one of those was a first kill. The kids had a great time in the woods watching a few more bucks. No misses, although our hunt got rained out Saturday morning it was a good time.
The men from the church and pastor brought the messages and they were really good. The one that was the most memorable was actually from the pastor.
Bro. David had a visual lesson and it really brought the message home to each of us. And I’m pretty sure we all could learn from it at this time of year.
Every morning we wake up when the alarm goes off, get ready for our day and sometimes even take time for breakfast. Then the day really begins, work or school, cleaning house or working in the yard, going hunting or taking care of the animals. We then come in after a long day, cook dinner and have a bite to eat, lay on the couch to relax, and later we make ourselves get up to go to bed. And there we are, laying in bed, trying to sleep, and figure out everything we have to get done tomorrow. Our lives are so full. Full of family and friends, work and the house, and it’s great, every last busy second is wonderful. But we never get it all done, there is always somewhere else we have to go, one more thing we need to pick up, three more phone calls we have to make, the list never ends. But then the pastor shared the scripture… Matthew 6:33, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
He then did a demonstration that showed only with Jesus first, does all the other things fit. Putting him at the head of our priorities means we have time for everything we need. So the question is, where is Christ on your Christmas list? That list of priorities that you have… Does He even have a place? Or will He get thought about, when you have the time? Will you read the Christmas story around the tree and put the Bible up until next year.
So many times we all find ourselves bogged down with life and responsibilities. And nothing is wrong with having things to do, but we need to make sure Christ is at the top of our list of priorities not just at Christmas, but every day.
He loves you so much, and He wants to be your number one. That’s all he asks from each of us.
We pray you have already made that choice. And that you continue to choose Him first.
If you ever need the ministry, or know someone who needs us, please feel free to contact us. All our weekends are free of charge for youth that need to take the time to get back to the basics of what life is really about, God and His creation.
Love and God Bless,
