Baptism at Briar Ridge…

Just finished an exciting first weekend at Briar Ridge! We had a wonderful group of kids and adults, and all I can say is every weekend is like a family reunion when season starts.

What a blessing it is for each of these kids to hold a special place in your heart and you just get new kids to add in every year. The past weekend was a group that has been coming for the last couple of years, but they always add to their group and this year was no different.

The group was from south central Mississippi, and we ended up with 14 ministry kids which ended up being 20 kids overall if you count all of them that were at camp this weekend. The kids ended up harvesting two bucks this weekend, with everyone seeing deer. The messages were brought by Bro. John Staszefski, which is always a blessing.

One of the best parts of the weekend was the baptism of two of our campers that gave their life to Christ a couple of years ago, I ask that you be praying for this family that they can find a home church. But even more special than that is we had two decide to give their life to Christ. Which is an amazing start to the year.

So, this morning I just want to talk about one of the messages this weekend. One of the messages was about Nicodemus, the story from John chapter 3. Nicodemus questioned about being born again and a later message was about how we are born to be different. You see as Christians, we aren’t meant to melt into the background, we are not to fall in with the crowd. We are to be a chosen people, a royal priesthood. We aren’t just anyone, we are children of the Most High God, and we should act like it. I know it’s not easy to stand out, to not fit in, but here is the question today… Would you rather be accepted by men and rejected by God, or would you rather be Accepted by God and Rejected by Men. You see, the choice is yours. Are you living your life to be accepted by those around you, or are you living a life for Christ? You see there is no in between, either you fit in with the world and go along with the crowd, or you hold fast to your faith.

The question this morning is which are you doing? Are you running the race that is set before you? If not, I urge you to take the steps to stand out from the crowd today.

Praying you have a blessed week, and if you need anything just let us know. We are here for you.

Love in Christ,

Briar Ridge
