Good Morning!!! Just sitting here reading my devotion this morning and realized that it has been so long since I got on and did a post. I apologize for my lack of love for all things social media, just a little too old to have a love for it, but I will try and do better.
February for the ministry is usually a month of rest that comes after planting season and ministry season, or deer season as most of the world thinks of it. Last month however was not that restful, if you follow us you know we have been dealing with wild hogs and all the damage that they are doing.
And that is kinda what’s on my mind this morning. My devotional today was about Abraham and Isaac. You see just like us at Briar Ridge thought we were at a season where we could let our guard down and take a break, tests come. Abraham was the same way. He had reached old age, his promise of a son had been fulfilled, he should have been able to live a life of faith to God and it should have been pretty easy seeing as he was over 100 years old. But that wasn’t the case, God decided that it was time for another test. You see we never get too old, and we should never be too comfortable to understand that a test may come. I’m not saying our wild hog problem is anything like Abraham’s faith being tested like in Genesis 22, but I do believe he may have thought it was his season of rest. Let’s be more like Abraham, ready to pick up and go as the Lord leads. Let’s be more like Christ and know that our ministry can last to the very last breath, and even after that if we live our lives in faith. I hope I’m not rambling, just pondering God’s calling for each of us. I urge you to take a moment and think of His calling for you today. If it seems you are in a season of rest, just make sure you are resting in Him. I’ll leave you with a few pictures of this past season, it was wonderful and filled with so many precious people and memories, but that is a story for another day. Stay safe and God Bless, if you need us or would like to learn more about our ministry please feel free to get in contact with us, we are available to speak and willing to share our ministry whenever we get a chance.
